there is no me without you

I have just started reading this book and already can't put it down. It was highly recommended to me by several families that have or are in the process of adopting from Ethiopia and I am sooooo glad that I have finally picked it up to read. It is the true story of an Ethiopian woman that saw the need to love and care for the orphans around her and took it upon herself to help. It is written in story form but is full of Ethiopian history and information regarding the AIDS epidemic in Africa. I highly recommend that you read this book and would be happy to pass it along once I am finished with it (at this rate probably tomorrow). I will post some of the quotes and ideas from the book soon but need to get back to my reading before my daughter wakes up.....

  1. I'm so glad you got your hands on it!! LOVED IT!! I read it, then Joe read it, then my Mom read it, and now I think I'm going to read it again! :) And don't worry... at the end they give updates about all the kids at the beginning... :)

  2. gotta check that one out!
Regarding JFS grant:We live in Ohio. I suspect it is an Ohio thing but I would DEFINITELY contact YOUR Job and Family Services! It was a GUARANTEED reimbursement of $2,000 after the adoption was final and we had proof of having spent that much! It was absolutely the EASIEST grant of ALL! I think it was only 1 page front and back and copy a few legal documents! If you check my blog and the GRANTS label on the left and towards the bottom of all the posts is one that lists all the grants I know of and their websites...
