Special Package on its way to Ethiopia

One of the items that we prepared for our court date was an album and letter for John T's birth mother. We sent it to our agency in Portland on Saturday with the hopes that it would get sent to Ethiopia tomorrow and make it to our court date on the 5th (1 week from tomorrow!!!) As our son is from the southern part of Ethiopia, there is a good chance that we will not be able to meet his birth mother while we are there. This album and letter may be the only communication we have with John's birth mother.

We included pictures of our family, our home and all of the photo's we had received of John T.

  2. this is a great idea... i'm going to have to steal it :-) thanks again for the packet. we picked it up this morning and talked with john for a little while. i called AGCI today and we sent in our pre-app after we got off the phone with them. we're super excited! we hate the way we were "messed with" but very happy the Lord has guided us to ethiopia!

  3. What a gift for the birth mother, your little family is well on it's way. It will give her peace in her heart to know her baby is going to be with a family filled with love. Keeping you all in our prayers. Meemaw and Papa

  5. We sent our care package out in the mail on Tuesday with the thigns for baby boy and the birthmother album. We had emailed the draft to Julie. I had been feeling great urgency to get this stuff out, but I am so relieved to see that so many families near us on the wait did the same this week. Whew... :) How was writing the letter for you?

  6. Thank you for your help with the letter. I really appreciate it. I hope baby John's birthmother can sense in some way your gratitude and your love for this precious child as she makes this journey.

  7. That's a beautiful album. I just found your blog through Jenny's post. Congratulations on your referral, and good luck with your court date, which is very soon! We are awaiting USCIS approval for our Ethiopian adoption.
